Abstract

  • The value of exports through loading ports in the Sumatera Utara region in February 2024 increased compared to January 2024, namely from US$735,683 million to US$746,834 million or an increase of 1.52 percent. When compared with February 2023, Sumatera Utara's exports decreased by 18.68 percent.
  • The group of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value in February 2024 compared to January 2024 was coffee, tea, spices, which increased by US$ 15.47 million (49.49%), while the group of goods that experienced the largest decline in export value was among the 10 The main category of goods was rubber and rubber goods amounting to US$ 6.04 million (-9.00%).
  • Exports to China in January 2024 were the largest, namely US$138.37 million, followed by the United States at US$110.71 million and India at US$46.94 million with the contribution of the three reaching 39.63 percent.
  • According to the group of main export destination countries in January 2024, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$249.00 million (33.34%).
  • The value of imports through Sumatera Utara in February 2024 on a CIF (cost, insurance & freight) basis was US$454.10 million or an increase of 1.09 percent compared to January 2024 which was worth US$449.20 million. When compared with the same month in the previous year, the value of imports increased by 20.71 percent
  • The value of imports by goods use class in February 2024 compared to January 2024, raw/auxiliary materials increased by 8.79 percent while capital goods and consumer goods fell by 14.28 percent and 33.10 percent respectively.
  • In February 2024, the category of goods that experienced the largest increase in import value was mineral fuel with a value of US$31.64 million (46.72%), while the category of goods that experienced the largest decrease in import value was plastic and plastic goods amounting to US$10. .93 million (-34.94%).
  • The import value in February 2024 from China was the largest, namely US$ 101.93 million, with its role reaching 22.45 percent of Sumatera Utara's total imports, followed by Malaysia at US$ 68.45 million (15.08%) and Singapore at US$ 65.87 million. (14.51%).
