Abstract

  • The value of exports through loading ports in the Sumatera Utara region in January 2024 decreased compared to December 2023, namely from US$769.48 million to US$735.68 million or a decrease of 4.39 percent. When compared with January 2023, Sumatera Utara's exports decreased by 9.64 percent.
  • The category of goods that experienced the largest decline in export value was the animal/vegetable fats and oils group amounting to US$30.19 million (-10.15%), while the category of goods that experienced the largest increase in export value in January 2024 compared to December 2023 was the tobacco category, which increased amounting to US$7.41 million (79.59%).
  • Exports to China in January 2024 were the largest, namely US$103.09 million, followed by the United States at US$85.92 million and India at US$66.06 million with the contribution of the three reaching 34.67 percent.
  • According to the group of main export destination countries in January 2024, exports to the Asian region (outside ASEAN) were the largest with a value of US$284.20 million (38.63%).
